Violin scroll repair completed by Marc Gregoire, Vermont violin maker at Gregoire's Violin Shop Although this damage did not affect how this fiddle plays, it wasn't very attractive to look at. I began by smoothing the damaged area. A new piece of maple was then carefully grafted into place. The new wood is then carved to match the old scroll. Varnish touch up completes this repair.
